You can regularly complete some jobs by round 3 and you will very rarely need more than 5 rounds. It is not fully optimized, some cards / items could be changed to make it even faster. A heads up like 'if you end your turn there, you're going to get hurt' is nice but taking one or two damage should not be a big deal. He excels at ranges dps and true dmg. All classes are strong and can work good together. I strongly suggest that you read the story on each character and choose whichever class most appeals to you. All classes can be quite varied based on build but here's my very basic summary.

You can still build toward an obstacle-based Cragheart. For one thing, many/most scenarios already contain single-hex obstacles, which the Cragheart uses to power its abilities. For two, there are higher levels you can sacrifice that don't really help toward the obstacle build much. Levels 6 and 7 can be used to take early obstacle cards.
